Andy got what he wanted – his life and his family back

After becoming a Dad in 2014 (I now have 2 kids), I really started to lose discipline with eating heathy and maintaining exercise.
From 2018, when I became a Garbage Truck Driver, I really packed on the weight. I was getting up at 3:30am and constantly feeling like I’d had the worst sleep. My partner would tell me regularly that I'd been snoring really bad all night and I didn't realise how badly this was damaging my relationship.
At the start of 2024 I weighed 91.4kgs. I was in absolute shock and this negatively affected my mental health. I felt like I'd become a lousy father. I knew I needed to fix this ASAP and after reading a lot about different weight loss shakes, I decided to begin The Man Shake.
Whilst I found it extremely hard at first to commit to the shakes, I decided to have 1 shake a day with 2 meals, and over time increased this to 2 shakes with 1 meal. I decided that in order to make it sustainable for me, I would have something else to eat after my shake if I was still hungry just so I didn't risk going back to bad habits. I found the Man Bars to be a life saver when it came to these extra things to eat.
Hands down, my favourite flavours are Choc Honeycomb and Caramel. I used to also like mixing Chocolate with Caramel or Banana flavours in the morning.
Whilst my mental health was much better after losing a heap of weight, I could still notice something was still amiss with my mental health. I thought “well I’ve gone this far to help myself with my weight, I might as well fix this current problem too”.
At the end of 2024 I was officially diagnosed with ADHD. This was something I was well aware of as a child, but I guess no one knew how this could affect you as an adult.
Since I started taking medication for ADHD, I completely lost my appetite which is a very common side-affect. This led to me losing more weight than I wanted to.
I found The Man Shake has stopped this unwanted extra weight loss. I now start my morning with a shake, have another shake at lunch and, when the medication wears off in afternoon, I have a large dinner. The Man Shake has been a life saver for me during this treatment and I’m now maintaining my weight at the level I want it to be.
I feel fantastic these days. I’m a much happier person and I’m more active at work. I'm a better father and I can actually kick the ball around with kids and go on big bush walks with them.
Overall, I’m just so much more productive not having to carry an unnecessary 20+kgs around. For me, by far the best thing to happen to date is that I’m sleeping better. I’m not waking myself or my family up from snoring and I wake up not feeling like I’ve struggled to breath all night.
If you are struggling with weight loss I really do suggest giving The Man Shake a go.
My advice would be to not go into this expecting to lose massive amounts of weight in a week or two. It takes time and, in my opinion, the chance of falling back into bad habits will be much higher if you have unrealistic expectations.
It's really important to remember to always be kind to yourself and, if you’re still hungry, have a bite to eat and slowly work your way into it just like I did. I still enjoyed my takeaway food and loved to have a few beers here and there. I just kept reminding myself to stay committed and the results will eventually show.
When I was struggling and felt like giving up, I enjoyed reading the stories The Man Shake have put on their website. This would instantly help me overcome those negative thoughts. Hopefully my story can help do this for someone else.
I wish anyone starting their weight loss journey the best of luck. I just want to say thank you so much to The Man Shake again, I finally have my life and family back.
